The False Sun Mini Games

Five interactive scenes, five different jobs. Which one sets a hidden stat, which is just a checkpoint, which timed input you are meant to pass — and which one you are meant to fail.

Five interactive scenes, five different jobs

Not every interactive moment in The False Sun is the same kind of mini-game. Some set a hidden stat, some are a checkpoint, some are a timed test you are meant to pass and one you are meant to fail. Mixing them up is why routes keep failing on the last dialogue.

Farm tasks: pick the pattern before you start

Farm work — cattle herding, egg collecting, feeding — is the most reusable route signal in the game, because you can set it deliberately at the start.

Make a clean save before the first task, and do not use a perfect farm run for a low-agility target.

Opening tutorial failure: a repeatable test, not a guaranteed unlock

Several players connect misplacing an animal in the opening tutorial with Cast (#20). Others report that one failed attempt is not enough, and successful reports sometimes mention many retries. Save immediately before the tutorial, fail one animal-placement action, continue without correcting it, and keep the route labelled unconfirmed until it reproduces reliably. The Ending 20 guide has the full procedure.

The puzzle: confirmed checkpoint, unconfirmed answer picker

Most routes say to complete the bunny puzzle before the next ending branch. That supports the puzzle as a story checkpoint. What the public notes do not provide is a verified table where different puzzle answers directly select different endings. Save before the puzzle, then save again before the dialogue that follows — the second save is the more useful one for gallery cleanup.

Knife timing: two separate checks

The late knife sequence contains more than one timing result, and confusing the two is a common mistake.

Save before each timed prompt. A single save before the whole scene can work, but name your attempts so you know whether you are testing the grab or the escape.

Path navigation: wrong and right both matter

Wrong directions are linked to Rake (#13). Correct navigation is used by Eyes (#10) and several late river or survival branches including The Water Does Not Let Go (#12). This makes the path sequence a good cleanup cluster once the route setup is already correct. Save before the first direction choice, change only navigation, and if both path tests fail, go back to the barn, bravery or knife checkpoint instead of blaming the paths.

Frequently asked questions

Five: the farm tasks, the opening animal tutorial, the puzzle checkpoint, the knife timing and the path navigation. They do not all work the same way, which is the whole point of the matrix above.

For Eyes (#10), yes — the community route consistently requires every farm mini-game to be completed perfectly. For He Let You Go (#16), the opposite: give every task to Silas.

No. Repeated reports connect a deliberate tutorial failure with Cast, but some players need many retries and the full trigger remains unconfirmed. Treat it as a controlled retry from a clean save.

The reviewed evidence supports the puzzle as a checkpoint before later branches, not as a verified answer-to-ending table. Nobody has published a complete set of puzzle answers that map to specific endings.

Before each timed prompt and before the first path choice, so you can test the successful knife grab, the failed RUN input, correct navigation and wrong navigation as four separate tests.

Play the Game

The game is free, runs in your browser, and needs no download, installer, or account. A full run takes about 30–60 minutes depending on how fast you read.

Before you follow a route: official game facts and player route notes can differ. The ending count and the in-game gallery are confirmed by the developer's itch.io page for Oniray's The False Sun; the per-ending triggers, reload checkpoints and evidence levels come from community-tested route data. The game ships no visible stat screen, so Agility, Bravery and Convincing are community route labels rather than developer-published values. Treat a single retry as a test, not a guarantee.
