Cast is ending #20 — the last slot in the game's gallery and the one with the least certain trigger. It is not a character; it is the gallery's name for the twentieth outcome.

Every other ending in The False Sun has a community route that reproduces. Cast does not. Multiple players connect it to deliberately failing the opening animal tutorial, but some needed many retries, and no fixed retry count, no randomness rule and no complete condition has been verified. Treat it as a controlled retry problem, not a recipe.
The best-supported test
Save immediately before the animal tutorial
This is the only save point in the game that matters for Cast. Make it clean — a fresh save with nothing done yet, and no farm work behind it. Every attempt should start from this exact save so you are testing one thing.
Misplace an animal on purpose
In the opening tutorial, place a horse, a sheep, or another tutorial animal in the wrong place deliberately. Then continue without correcting it. Correcting the mistake is what most players do instinctively, and that is probably why most runs miss it.
Record the result, then retry the same save
Note the animal type, the attempt number and the game version. If Cast did not unlock, reload the same clean pre-tutorial save and repeat. Change only the tutorial action between attempts.
Try the chicken detail
Some player reports mention clicking the chicken right after the herding and feeding mini-games. This is not part of the best-supported test and is not confirmed — but it is a cheap extra thing to try if the tutorial-failure route alone never fires.
What NOT to do
- Do not grind the late route. Changing Silas or Kyle dialogue choices, farm patterns or the pier choice has never been shown to affect Cast. It is a front-of-game test.
- Do not trust a fixed retry count. Any “retry it N times” claim is unconfirmed.
- Do not correct the mistake. Fixing the animal placement is the most common reason a test fails.
- Do not mix conditions. One tutorial action per attempt, everything else identical.
How Cast relates to the other endings
Cast sits outside the four route clusters. Seventeen endings run through Silas, one is Kyle-focused, one mixes them, and Cast has no established route at all. Because the trigger appears to live in the opening tutorial rather than in the story branch, it is also the only ending you can attempt without playing through the rest of the game.
