Eyes (#10) — the hardest known ending

Eyes is the ending the community consistently calls the hardest. It is also the one players most often mean when they search for a “truth ending” in The False Sun — because it is the route where you actually work out what has been happening.

It is a mixed route: Kyle dialogue layered onto a late Silas route, with every interactive system in the game pulling in the same direction at once.

One missed condition, one wrong ending

Every requirement below has to be true at the same time. Change the farm pattern, miss the pier, or lose the knife timing and the run still ends — just somewhere else. That is why Eyes needs four separate saves rather than one.

The seven conditions

Farm work

Complete every farm mini-game perfectly

Cattle herding, egg collecting and feeding — all of them, all perfect. This is the opposite of the He Let You Go route. The community Eyes route asks for flawless farm work.

Pier

Take the pier

The pier is the high-bravery fork. Eyes is one of the endings on the brave side of it; refusing the pier points you at You Should Have Been Braver (#11) instead.

Kyle dialogue

Take the Kyle dialogue choices

Same supportive Kyle thread that carries the pure Kyle route — which is what makes Eyes a mixed route rather than a Silas one.

Fire scene

Take the fire-scene choice

One specific decision in the fire scene. It is one of the four named save points for this route, which tells you how often players get it wrong.

Barn

Answer the barn question correctly

The barn question after the puzzle. Getting it wrong is the difference between Eyes and a different late branch.

Knife

Win the early knife timing

You need the fast input on the first knife action. He Was Faster (#14) is the same scene with the later RUN input deliberately missed — do not confuse the two checks.

Paths

Choose the correct paths

Correct navigation. Wrong directions are Rake (#13), a completely different ending that shares the late scene.

The four saves this route needs

Because Eyes mixes a Kyle setup with a late Silas setup, no single save can hold the whole route. The community route report names four checkpoints:

If Eyes keeps eluding you

Work backwards from the endings that share parts of this route. If your farm work is perfect but the ending will not fire, your problem is not the farm pattern. Use the all 20 endings table and compare against the endings that differ from Eyes by exactly one step — each one isolates a single condition you can test.

Frequently asked questions

It needs everything at once: Kyle dialogue and a late Silas route, perfect farm mini-games, the pier for bravery, the fire-scene choice, the barn question, a fast knife input and the correct paths. Miss any one and the run slides into a different ending.

Yes. The community route consistently requires every farm mini-game to be completed perfectly. This is the opposite of the He Let You Go (#16) route, where you give every task to Silas.

Yes — the pier is the high-bravery fork and Eyes is one of the endings on the brave side of it. Avoiding the pier sends you toward You Should Have Been Braver (#11).

The route report names four: before the pier, before the fire scene, before the nightmare and before the knife scene. Because it is a mixed route, you need all of them held simultaneously.

Eyes needs you to succeed at the early knife action. The later RUN input failure is what produces He Was Faster (#14) instead. Do not confuse the two timing checks.

Before you follow a route: official game facts and player route notes can differ. The ending count and the in-game gallery are confirmed by the developer's itch.io page for Oniray's The False Sun; the per-ending triggers, reload checkpoints and evidence levels come from community-tested route data. The game ships no visible stat screen, so Agility, Bravery and Convincing are community route labels rather than developer-published values. Treat a single retry as a test, not a guarantee.
